"We don't sell oysters, we sell an experience"

Hello Jozi.... The World Is My Oyster

Posted by Lisa Lisa on Thursday, May 19, 2016 Under: Johannesburg
Something interesting is afoot.

Yes I'm living in Johannesburg. I've done a couple of festivals, a Gig here and there,and am attracting some private sales. I also saved a Hotel in Kimberley of all places with their crisis, supplying urgent oysters for an event when they were let down by their own very big supplier. That was a bit of an Adrenalin rush. I'm also managing things in Cape Town from a distance (with plenty glitches)....!

However, there's been an incredible flow of fresh new insights.

I'm passionate about continually expanding and creating all sorts of possibilities. And it can be a fairly long list...which keeps growing:

  • Possibilities that have my life and environment work;
  • The possibility of growing my business, The Oyster Lady, into Jhb for the next few years to come;
  • The possibility of growing a new product line(s);
  • The possibility of playing a much bigger game;

I've been told that I love a blank canvas, that I'm used to being uncomfortable. However, I know my nature resists change. Yet I've embraced and opted for change often in my journey, purely because of the continual evolvement and transmutation I've experienced through this. Change is a purifier. It purges using the joy of new discoveries alongside the suffering of perceived separation. These paradoxes often force clarity to surface amidst this chaos.

Comfort zones swallow up potential creativity and along with that, any sense of purpose. Another perk is that the constant fear-noise diminishes while silence grows louder and more deliciously friendly and....comfortable. Change is like a detox. The toxins purge at first agonizingly slowly. But after that, miraculously what is left is vulnerability, softened and open. Receptive. Worth the choice for change. Re-birth is possible.

I willingly trade all my resistance for opportunity. Opportunity to live and thrive, and flow with who I am, with joy and ease, knowing that things are always working out for me.

The questions I have are: what am I here to do? What is my job?

And there it is.... I couldn't have answered it better. I found this message waiting for me in my Inbox after asking my questions above. I love synchronicity, and this is so spot on! I'm in the zone. Thank you. This is my and everyone's sacred joyful life experience, waiting to be realised and then embraced moment by every blessed moment with appreciation:

If your dominant intent is to feel joy while you are doing the work, your triad of intentions—freedom, growth and joy—will come quickly and easily into alignment. See your "career" as one of creating a joyful life experience. You are not a creator of things or a regurgitator of what someone else has created or a gatherer of stuff. You are a creator, and the subject of your creation is your joyful life experience. That is your mission. That is your quest. That is why you are here.
